Weekly Weigh-In ♥Jan 8-14♥Outside the Comfort Zone

When’s the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone?
It's so comfy to stick with the same routines but I was invited to a seminar this weekend and had a blast chatting with our small group and sharing experiences. I bumped into someone from years ago and made new friends too.
Stepping out of our comfort zone is a great avenue for growth, learning something new, building self-confidence, honing communication skills. By embracing this one activity, it’s opened so many doors and ideas for growth experiences. As a matter of fact, this whole weekend has been one of fabulous life transformations.
A favorite restaurant had closed not long ago and I had never let them know how much I appreciated their ambience, food and service but, they opened under a new name just Friday so I had another opportunity and jumped right on it. An announcement had arrived by email that afternoon and we went the same evening. I took advantage of the opportunity to establish extended “familia” ties with my favorite restaurateur, Stefan, at his new "Nonno's" Restaurant.
One great experience out of the comfort zone is like an affirmation that we stepped out once and had a fabulous experience so we can surely get out there and continue to have great experiences again and again. Even if not every experience will be one of a “cloud nine” caliber, it will certainly be life-altering and an expansion of our horizons. With the past two days, I’m 2-for-2 in heart-warming, mind-expanding, life-altering experiences.
It’s amazing how stepping out builds up the confidence to hone in on the healthy lifestyle goals and see how they’re working so far. I’m feeling confident that the goals I had set can be refined for greater results. Hope you’re also feeling great this weekend and expecting the best for the week. I’m looking forward to hearing how everyone is doing.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...
My weight is about the same.About 3.5 pounds from my goal weight.
