This weekend my sister came up a plan on having our sweets..but in a portion manner. Instead buying in bulk quantities, buy smaller items. For example.... it's 3 people in my household..and I brought ice cream cones pack of 4.... I ate one only.My sis ate 2, and mom ate 1, wow!! No more!!
I love sweets, and not giving up ...but in portion control manner.
My sister told me if I overeat , she will dismissed this plan...So I must be very good.
Buy small item that counts in your household. Best of luck..

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

At least I recognize that now and accept it!
But when I get ambushed by a bunch of girl scouts and the force me to buy $20 or $40 worth of cookies. Man, those 6 year olds can be really tough!!! he he he, just kidding. I do MYSELF in
Lately, my treat is to reserve enough calories to enjoy 1/5 cup of part skim ricotta cheese, mixed with 1 teaspoon or tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder, some stevia powder, mix it well,l and then 1 teaspoon each of unsweetened shredded coconut, and one of chopped walnuts. For me, that's as tasty as cannoli filling. There are so many ways to make enjoyable treats to savor. :) I would freeze the girl scout cookies and enjoy one at a time.
Fun post!!!
Not trying to say that everyone should do this but in my case it's what I needed to do and I felt the effect from doing it in just a few days. All the aches and pains that I had in my joints disappeared and there was a dramatic drop in my blood pressure.
It's been right at 8 weeks since I started this and I don't plan on going back. My favorite desert now is a protein shake with fruit, nuts, flax seeds and crushed ice. No guilt and it;s good for me.
Alcohol has no draw to me. I can avoid it, I can drink a part of a drink and leave it.
Chocolate has my number. It calls, I obey.
For me some things have no middle ground. It is either total avoidance or complete indulgence.
