I am trying to lose weight and be healthy, but I feel like it's going to be difficult to get any thinner than a size 12 because I have lymphedema in my left leg (I was born with it). I would be happy at that size though and I think I can do it; I am a 14/16 now.
It does bother me how shallow our society is, though. I remember when I lost a lot of weight as a teenager. I was suddenly treated like a princess because I was attractive and curvy. (with my lymphdema, when I swell up, it really affects my appearance, so there was a big change.)
and even though nobody is pointing at me and calling me fat right now, there's a subtle social discrimination that I am conscious of. I know how the Jewish character in "Chariots of Fire" felt when he said, "they'll lead me to the water, but they won't let me drink!"
I feel like I am doing well because the average BMI of someone with leg lymphedema is 70! But people look at me and they can't see that. :(

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Our society is something now days. There is no human perfect, without flaws, or no one walks on water. But, as a whole, there will always be some folks out there, who will look down on others.
We cannot change these people, but only change ourselves in the way we react to their emotional abuse. I am not sure what the response should be, ignore them, or say something smart as a come back remark.
We are all beautiful people. I am not a confrontation person, so I would just tell myself, thank goodness I am not ignorant like they are.
I believe what goes around comes around, so tomarrow maybe their day.
I hope I made you feel a little better.
believe it
Sadly, it doesn't change much. I'm a senior now, and still dealing with the rejection and discrimination. People think they can do or say anything to a heavy person! I've come close to DECKING some of these bitches!!! Excuse my French, but most of the time the discrimination comes from females.
God bless you.
All I can say is that we have to be the change. People are always going to find something about you to judge or talk about if they're looking for it. I gained all this weight from being in a deep depression for years and now I realize I don't want to live my life worrying about what other people think. If someone can't look past your weight to the person you are underneath it, then believe me, they're not worth even talking to, because obviously they're very shallow.
And livingwater, just fyi, those shallow, mean, stupid girls who get entertainment from hurting other girls, they end up on drugs or with 4 kids they can't take care of cuz they're "pretty boy" HS bf runs out on them. Or they just end up unsuccessful, bitter, uneducated and angry sluts because they spent they're whole lives being garbage. I know, I see all the popular girls from my school around every once in awhile, it's hilarious!
