I seem to struggle most with Emotional Eating. I was doing well for a while but then several personal challenges hit me at one time and I found comfort in all the wrong foods again. Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do to avoid emotional eating?

The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. You are not alone, everyday is a challenge for me. I love sweets and carbs and I will not give them up. I consider it a good day if I do not binge. I am trying for portion control. Each day is a new day and a new start. Never give up, because our health is worth it no matter what we go through.....

I also allow for some calories at bedtime. If I don't, I lie there awake and anxious until I give in to some craving. A full night's sleep is so essential. It prevents severe hunger the next day.
I bake healthy cakes to allow myself yummy things in my diet. To me this is controlles emotional eating. Emotional because that cake makes me happy. My favorite is a nut-quark cake. I have two pieces as a lunch-meal. Not in between. I have entirely stopped eating in between. I have 5 hour breaks between meals. That also helps me - I just stick to it.
I have lost 20 kg this way (since August 2014) and by living with mixture of combining and fast days.
Wishing you all the best
