I've battled with my weight for the last 15 years. I was thin as kid and it was not until after I had my kids the weight packed on, I know a lot of my gain was from depression but I didn't know i was depressed at the time but I am over weight by at least 80lbs.
I've had some success with weight watchers but only average about 20lb weight loss. I've joined 5 times. I follow the plan to the exact letter, exercise until I can't stand it , and of course my friends who joined lost tons of weight,
I've always been active , non smoker, I am healthy other than the number on the scale. I can not seem to lose weight, no matter what I do and I get so frustrated my weight keeps going up . Blood work comes back fine.
I've made some inquiries on the lab band and gastric bypass because I am so fed up with all this dieting.
When I got to the YMCA I look around and have no idea where to start or exercise at home on the tread mill or my DVD's I don't know what would be a good plan, how long would be suitable.
Sometimes I just want to scream, because I receive so much negative feedback from friends and family, they have no idea how hard it is for me or everyone else, the constant up hill battle
I'd like to hear ideas and thoughts from everyone , exercise routines, eating habits, anything.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I think WeightWatchers is a great plan. It worked for me too but remembering that's it's a lifestyle and not just a short term plan is key.
I started again a week ago Monday and I'm very happy I did. Making progress and planning to meat those goals. I'm tracking again and also keeping a progress log just like we do in group.
Start some new goals and come here for support. We really need to do this thing. Time keeps going on and in that time, we could be making progress toward achieving our goals.
