Just, why do I bother? I just want to die so badly, but can never do it... There's always something that stops me in the end. It hurts that nothing's going right and bad things just keep popping up in my life. I even gave up on calling for emergency services to avoid expenses... Why is it so hard to say, just jump out of the window... for example?

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? I have often said that depression is like there is a button we have to push each night if we are going to live through the night. If we don't push it, we pass away at night.
To me, the desire to NOT push the button is what depression is.

I know what it's like to want to end it. I have battled those same thoughts and feelings off and on for years. Sometimes we have to distract ourselves with a hobby or some music to get our minds thinking in a different direction
You can overcome this. you are not the first person to walk down this path. Keep posting and let us know how it's going. Hugs.

I'm going to assume you've done therapy, either now or in the past. If you aren't there now, go back. Make an emergency appointment.
Getting the right medicine takes time. It's a pain in the ass, I know.
I had ect last year. It helped me a lot. You may need to talk to your doctor about it if you aren't having success with medicine and therapy alone.
I still take medicine but its the right combination, finally, that I needed.
When I couldn't work, i volunteered at an animal shelter. I've always loved animals. Helping others ultimately helps ourselves too so if you have a particular passion, animals, the elderly, children etc, give that a try.
Check out volunteermatch.com for ideas. It's a good site.
