My feelings stress me out. I'll have such a 'good' day where so mych positivity happens. And I still feel sad. I want to feel happy but I don't think I can. It's very frustrating.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

Are you writing a journal? I find through writing in mine and checking it later that I have actually made huge progress, even on days when it does not feel like it at all (e.g. today). Checking my old posts here also helps, so you could use this forum in combination with a journal to keep track of your progress. I think it can help you a lot. It's helping me. Often my old entries look absolutely pathetic and even laughable to myself, even when I am still sad. This is not to say that you should think anything you say or do right now is laughable or pathetic; at the time you feel it, it is right, but you will feel better! And your journal will reflect it.
One thing on the journal that I thought would be useless but I've actually found helpful is a gratitude list (just 5 positive things that happened or exerted their influence during the day, better still if you directly or indirectly made them happen). I write it at the very end of the daily entry just before I go to sleep, and it feels foolish but positive.
Write about all of those positive things on the good days, even if you feel empty and in pain while you're doing them or afterwards.
Also, please do stay out there, all that positivity is having an effect on you even if it doesn't quite feel like it at times.
And here's a cyber-hug to put on your gratitude list just in case you need a fifth one (I'm sure you won't). You will be fine! =)
