oragel and ibuprofen or tylenol

If you get the baby oragel it doesn't taste as nasty, and still numbs your mouth.

I used baby oragel and regular and neither worked neither did Tylenol. I wish I could take aleve. But I can't have naproxen

Clove oil works too...or biting a clove but does not taste good :P

Motrin works. When I had a infected wisdom tooth, I tried both Advil and Motrin, which are supposedly the same thing just different brands, and I noticed Motrin worked best. One trick you can putting ice on the space between your thumb and index finger. Also, if the tooth near the back of the mouth, try massaging the area next to your eye on that side. There's a nerve that runs from the mouth that is along there.

I just had the same problem, and I chewed on cloves. It helped a little bit. I also rinsed my mouth really well with listerne and used an ice pack. These will all help, but if you have an infection you will need antibiotics. It's the infection that is causing the pain!

I'm on antibiotics for another reason so I doubt they'd give me more. The chemotherapy that I'm undergoing is killing my nerves in my teeth so it's probaby from a dying nerve.

Oh, that pain is so tough....I know.

They say a cold teabag placed in between gum and tooth, helps. If you have some Chloraseptic, you can try spraying that in the area, just don't swallow it (numbs for awhile).

Ibuprofen works best for me for pain. Good luck.
