I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

Tomorrow is National Massachusetts Day!Have you ever lived in or visited Massachusetts? If so, tell us what's great about the Bay State!

I noticed so many said family bring them joy. I think the lack of family is a big reason why I'm depressed. I hope some day I can make a family of my own.
I also noticed a lot of people said their pets bring them joy. My cat is one thing that brings me joy. :) I also love animal pictures and videos!
LMT - baking for the nursing home is a great idea. I still have a ton of cookie ingredients left!
Heidi - I haven't baked in a while because it seems like so much work (stupid depression), but I need to give it a try again. Aww I am glad the girl Josh met still wants to be his friend. :) I hope they have a great friendship!
LMT what you gave up on team because they are out? Humm, I think it is LMTiftheywinabigone! LOL
I find joy in my son Theodore and my husband. I also find much joy in my 3 cuddly cats. Good food and funny movies also bring me tons of joy. I love my apartment too, I have lived many places and had many negative experiences, but where I live now truly feels like home.
My two dogs bring me joy. The one that is a medium size and fluffy labrador mix especially likes me and likes to hang out with me on my bed (where I usually am).
I like to hang out with good friends. I usually just play games with them which is fine because we can mostly laugh about things and have a good time. I sometimes talk about emotional things with my closest friends too.
As for by myself, playing games can usually make me happy, or at least immerse me out of unhappy thoughts. Exercise can make me happy too, especially if I set harder goals and meet them. :D
My two kitties bring me lots of joy. Gardening is a huge one for me. It's hard to make myself go enjoy hiking, but when I do, I never regret it, even if it's only a short one. (there have been times I've only made it to the parking lot and couldn't get out of my car, but I still enjoyed looking at the trees while there).
Then there are an abundance of fleeting small pleasures: that sip of tea at just the right temperature, when the sun shines through the plant room and leaves the silhouettes of leaves on the kitchen wall, that feeling of accomplishment when something you dreaded doing is finally DONE (for me, that's usually dusting- haha), a good night's sleep with an enjoyable dream that lingers into the next day, sore muscles from a hard day's labor....lots more like that. They do add up to amount to something resembling contentment :)
Also, knowing I'm not alone gives me joy.
