Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I posted this type of question in another support group awhile back, I will try to find the link for you if you'd like additional feedback.
After describing this to half a dozen doctors over 2 years, one of them finally said, well, it's obvious, if you can remember so much of your dreams then you're not getting very deep, restful sleep!
Now I have a sleep-aid. Ambien did the opposite for me but Lunesta is working wonders.

There is some stuff in the middle that is a bit bizarre and not totally relevant, but a few of the replies I received talked more about dreams.
It's not that I remember a lot of dreams as such, I just remember one or two of the more vivid ones. Like the one where I need to pee and all the public toilets are filthy gross LOL.
"Previously in Your Strange Dreams... "
I guess I call myself a prolific dreamer because I recall more dreams than anyone else in my household, but it's certainly not every morning that I wake up with "Hey, I just had the weirdest dream last night".
Perhaps you should write down your dreams and sell them as a TV series plot to a major network. Make some cash from your nocturnal mind wanderings!
That is a wonderful idea! haha. I don't really know who would really want to watch, maybe fans of some bizarre things like on Comedy Central....
Sure, doesn't everyone?
Actually a lot of p[eople say they don't dream at all. But of course they do, they just don't remember it as they have a good sleep pattern. We tend to remember dreams when we are awoken from a deeper sleep, which is what I'mof was talking about.
If you have a normal sleep then dreams are in the middle and you don't wake half way through them and thus remember them.
I notice you are a lady and have a child. Now don't take this the wrong way but of my last 3 long term partners, each who had a child, they all got up several times a night to wee and came straight back to bed and were snoring before I could compalin about being woken up. Also is it possible hormones are playing with you too?
Those 3 ladies, 2 said they slept fine but my current partner knows she doesn't and just accepts it, no choice. It's often just one of the penalties of child birth, the body doesn't always recover fully.
The feeling anxious thing does happen to me too sometimes when I have a bad dream I CAN remember. So, what's the answer? I say they are just dreams and we shouldn't worry about them at all as they only reflect what we are worrying about when awake if they are bad. If they are good, great, more please.
Have you ever been under the impression that something has happened in your waking life only to LATER come to realize (through conversation, observation of things around you) that those things DID NOT happen?
I have spent a lot of time confusing my dreams with reality.
No doctor has answered that part of my question yet either.
In reply to midnightcowboy, it is possible hormones could be partly to blame, although I'm not going thru menopause just yet and my other hormonal cycles are normally pretty reliable and good. I usually get up during the night for a wee break :o) and get back to sleep within a few minutes. My daughter doesn't get me up during the night (she's nine).
