Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

This is an odd post. I was an accomplished runner about three years ago. I contracted heart disease and required several surgeries to correct. This sidelined my running for nearly three years. I had to wait for my heart to heal (the slowest muscle to heal in the body) to return to running. I thought I would never return to running. My heart has changed and my running endurance will never be the same (I was an ultra runner and have over 50+ marathon completions) but, I am back to run/walk and do a 5K each day. What I was amazed by was that my running shoes have wear patterns. It shows that I have run enough to wear down the shoes and it is something that I never thought would happen. Before my heart disease, I would use 8-9 different shoes at one time to wear down the shoes uniformly.

I was pretty nervous about it, because I've never had any procedures related to my heart or any other major organs. I've had knee surgery and thyroid surgery, but to me anything to do...
