Volunteering for the first time tomorrow

Tomorrow is my first day as a volunteer at the cat shelter. I usually have no confidence in myself to do anything especially when it is for others, but surprisingly I am not that nervous or down on myself at the moment.

I have been wanting to do this for quite some time, but I had been too nervous and scared to even inquire about it. A big reason was my lack of confidence. So this is a big step for me.

I really hope it goes well and I stick with it because it has so many positives. Not just for the cats and the people who run the shelter, but it can help me feel good about myself and boost my confidence. I really need this!

Yes it is a win win situation when you give your most precious time and effort . In return you honestly know you are needed sometimes you are even appreciated. It has been a long time since I volunteered. I think you are doing a wonderful thing for a worthy cause and for yourself. I hope it goes well and just gets better and better as time goes on.

Hi everyone! It went well and I was not that nervous. One of the kittens climbed on my lap and purred and rubbed its face on mine. It was so cute!!! I will go back next week. I am going to do it once a week for now as I adjust!

You probably aren't nervous because you are going to do something that you are truly looking forward to doing and inside you know that you are going to be good at what you do.     I'm horrified!  I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000.  I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter.  I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change.  Now this!  I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000.  I guess I have to pay...

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
