Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I’m going through a difficult time (when am I not) and I’m not sleeping well. Currently I’m trying to find an apartment but there’s nothing available in my area. As the scapegoat in my family I live with a relative and I want to get away from all this. Another thing is I really have no friends here and I don’t want to get into the details but someone I was getting very close with online doesn’t seem to like me much anymore. It’s hard because I was enjoying the validation I was getting out of it. I feel horrible about myself in every way, my looks, and increasingly my ability to function. I used to be very agoraphobic and it got better for awhile but now it’s back. I don’t know long I can continue living this way.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Also try to eat well, and not eat too much or too close to bedtime, and if you take supplements, take them mostly before lunch with meals. If you don't take supplements, a good multivitamin isn't going to do you any harm.
On the loneliness factor. That's rough on a lot of us, and the pandemic management isn't helping. One thing you might try that could help on all accounts, is to volunteer time at your local food bank, or with a group like habitat for humanity. They'll get you doing something physical while you are interacting with people. Who knows, maybe you'll meet some new friends, maybe even a romantic interest.
You are stronger than you know. Believe it! Keep moving forward, and things will improve.
