Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Always remember no matter what someone cares for you and that person won't like to see you hurt . Take care !
And don't copy me I'm serious starving yourself is horrible when you start it its more hard to get out of it .
Same with Eating Disorders, extremely addictive, they give you a false sense of control, and once you start they are hard to stop.
I'm 50 years old, a retired Psychologist. I was diagnosed BiPolar 30 years ago. I started cutting when I was 13ish...because I never knew how to handle the emotions and trauma my Pedophile father caused me.
I have a lot of experience, education and training in all of this, "been there, done it, and have many, many t-shirts."
Cutting is just like a drug addiction, if you start it back up, odds are you won't stop, and every time you start and try to stop it just gets harder and harder. You have to learn new safe, healthy behaviors to deal with the Emotional stress, basically re-train your brain. If your not seeing a Pdoc (psychiatrist) and Therapist it would be a good idea to do so. They can help you get on a Treatment Program to manage things and work towards stability. There are meds that can help you from a Pdoc. And a Therapist can help you learn Coping Skills to use when you get to the point of wanting to cut or having urges.
I hope that you consider getting the help that you need.
Take care,
Kat
I’m very sorry you feel this way. But please don’t harm yourself again. Try to do things that will distract you from thinking of cutting yourself.
Please feel free to post anytime, it will help you to relieve the sadness you have now. Have you tried to talk to your parents about how you feel? If you need more help, please consult with a doctor. I hope you can get the help you need to feel better.
Try to join a youth group in your church. Being surrounded with people who will encourage and pray for you is a huge help. I hope to hear from you again. I pray that God’s peace and comfort be upon you. Take care.
