Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hello,
I don't know why I am so overwhelmed. I am in graduate school, and I'm only working part time. Compared to working full time as a teacher, this shouldn't seem like as much, but it just feels totally overwhelming.
It seems like grad school is much harder than my BA. I guess that is to be expected. I'm stressed that my loans are now at 100k, which is what I was trying to avoid, but I guess that is the price of trying to get more higher education. I don't know where I would have been without my first degree, there really would have been no viable career path for me.
Anyway, on my days "off" meaning from work, I can barely move my arse. They are not days off, but days spent at the library, like 6 to 8 hours. I'm not complaining, just saying, it takes up all my time. I can't imagine if I'd tried to hang on to my fulltime, I don't think this would have even been possible.
I guess what bothers me is my inertia. On the day that I have to be at work, I'm up very early, like 5 AM, out the door, and working. Even though my job is not really hard per se, I am totally shot by the time that I get home. After errands, I laid down at 7 PM and was fast asleep, and then was up again at 10 PM. I could not for the life of me go to bed again until 3 AM, which means that I could not get up and get moving until about 10:30 AM this morning. This makes me so mad as it really shorten the day. The previous semesters on my day off, I was up much earlier, around 8 AM or so, and would study from about 10 AM to 6 PM. I don't know WTH is wrong with me. I pass out on Fridays, and on weekends can sleep about 12 hours. If I was up much earlier on my library days, I would be so much more productive. It put me in such a foul mood when I saw how late it was this morning. So my study session doesn't get started until 1 or 2 and I am done about 7 or 8, which really is getting late. Also my thesis/portfolio is due in one month, which is like having another class. It is so much.
Anyway I just needed to vent. Anyone else here have problems sleeping, either getting to sleep or staying asleep? It is such a disruption.
