Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Last night I had one of those nights, well I'l lsay days. Everything and everyone that I came in contact with had something negative to say to me or about me. I am this or I can't do that. My children are this way because I am this... Just negative all the way around. The last time I had this happen I ended it but it didn't work.
I was ready to just end it all last night. I was ready to give in and JUST RID THIS WORLD OF MY CHILDREN AND I.
I'm tired of feeling less than and I'm tired of feeling the lonely feelings of depression. I wish I could just turn ut off. I wish I could just be what everybody wanted or needed.
Then last night after I had my melt down and came out of the bathroom. No one really noticing me that I was a broken mess. I laid down and all my babies jumped in bed with me. Two of them fell asleep in my arms. It's hard to dig myself out of this slump but as hard as it is, I am trying to remember that they are here for me and I am here for them. They need mom. When noone else needs MOM or wants her THEY DO.
I refelct back on where I was five years ago and if I was there again last night it would have been over with. But I'm trying to beat this depression and it's hard.....
I'm inching my way out of that deep dark hole. Someday I'll peek my head out of it and someday I might fall into th bottom again. But RIGHT i KNOW i'M JUST HATING GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS OF IT....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

That's scary. You were honestly thinking of taking your own life and your children's as well? I'm not judging you but for sure you need to get help NOW. That's a dangerous train of thought and you need to seek professional help before something tragic happens.
Trust me, I totally get going through the motions everyday - I do it myself. Work, social engagements, child care, repeat. I feel like a shell with no emotions and I keep plodding through my horrendously busy schedule in hopes that things will get better. Thank god I don't have suicidal tendencies but I have to tell you - if I ever thought of harming my child, I'd be RUNNING to the first source of help I could get just to ensure nothing happened to my son. Are you in a position to be able to get in-depth care or help? I'm really concerned about you.....
Please get help right away...YOU CAN DO THIS! God Bless you and your kids (((big hug)))
I just wanted to put that thought somewhere to get it out of my thoughts. If you fully understood where I was from and what kind of care I have to find, here you would go either.
I've looked and researched my own ways to counsel myself as well as get a degree in counseling. I know how to help my triggers and help my thoughts without harming myself or my children or anyone. Sorry if it scared anyone. I just wanted it out of me.... Those thoughts are scary. I didn't want them.
Thank you to those that had kind words......
I'm sorry for putting pen to paper... In this case, typing...... THANKS
But I also have to say that the feeling you were expressing, of self-harm, is crap. I get really annoyed at people when they self-punish as a consequence of someone else's bad behaviour. It really pisses me off. To feel self destructive when you are being badly treated is so common, so usual, and so insufferably not okay.
You'll have to scuse my naturally angry way of talking. I don't know why I do it. Maybe it's rage squirting out the edges (I'm trying to work through it) but I've been shat on enough in life to know you have to shit BACK or escape. But never, ever ever for a second buy into their viewpoint to the extent that you harbour a single thought that is negative about yourself. you know?
Catch yourself doing it and say loudly and firmly 'blow that for a joke'. Screw the bastards. Don't be the guy that died. I had severe suicidal leanings for over a year and you know what saved my life? Realising the wankers who had put me in the grave with their absolute insensitivity would be standing around, joking, drinking, saying 'gee, I don't know what got into her.' Despite me telling my husband how things were for me, begging him to get me a counsellor, help me out,, he would be standing there with a drink in his hand saying 'gee I don't know what happened, she seemed fine'.
I wanted to punch his face in. (starting to access my inner anger. all good...) Certainly not punch my own in. So no. Don't damage yourself to help out some bastard who's not managing to damage you fast enough on his own.
/end rant.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
