Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Today when my best friend got on the bus she simply sat down beside me hugged me and cried. I was so confused. She told me her dad had hit her and taken everything but her clothes and her bed. She cried all day. Her dad called the school and told them to keep her and her boyfriend apart, forcing them to break up. Her dad showed up at the school and I saw the terror in her eyes . Before we left school she handed me a envelope. Told me to hide but don't read it. I read it anyway. She had given me a suicide note. I'm so scared I don't want to lose her I love her so much. I know this isn't about me but I need advice on this. I told the school but what will that do to stop her. I can't sleep I'm so scared. I'm afraid I will wake up tomorrow and she'll be gone.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Please let us know what happened, good bad or what ever.
She's had one day of this and she's gone all romeo and juliet.
I would show up at her house and give her back the note. Tell her you're not going to be her accomplice, you're not going to play this game with her. She's had one whack and her stuff confiscated, any kid has had that happen fifty times without starting in on the suicide notes. How ridiculous. She's scared of what? She's going to kill herself to avoid what? A hiding?
This is rot. It's a strategic move on her part. She's playing politics. She's playing chess with Daddy.
Just understand: she expected you to read it.
I'd leave them to their psychodramas if I were you.
Dad has another alternative of course. he can call the cops on her boyfriend and get the lad done for statutory rape. Put the boy away, solve his problem. Is Dad doing that? No. Do we want him to? No.
So sometimes we just bite the bullet. Dad is in no mind to be raising his own grandchildren just now. If she wants to shag boyfriend she can always leave home. But while she's under dad's roof she has to obey his basic rules.
He's clearly not a child beater or she wouldn't be going hysterical on one little slap. She'd be used to getting a hiding. This is a pretty clear example to me of too little, too late, with a daughter who is definitely just going to suck down into her own point of view no matter what he does. I actually think dad's doomed. Daughter's too far gone.
