I was wondering if anyone (males if possible) can tell me if depression has caused them to lose the desire to have sex. My husband who suffers from depression and is not on medication has recently lost all sexual desire. Is this common?

it is very much so and if he does go on meds that will correct it I have suffered from depression for year ever since I can remember but but like 6 years ago I lost all desire to have sex I went on meds and I was right back to my old self when it comes to sex that is a year ago I tried to come off the drugs because of my job my meds made tired all the time well any how I went back to loosening the desire for sex I've been back on meds for the last six months and everything is great in area so yes depression does effect it

Jem, sex is merely the manifestation of intimacy. Perhaps there's a dysfunction not discussed. Confrontation about the matter of sex and depression instinctively makes one defensive. A counselor can help.
