Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
update on my life:
i realized that i needed to get help, i needed support in order to go on, so i took the next step and decided to go to therapy. I didn’t want to at first but i know i needed to and that it wouldn’t hurt to try. Last week i was diagnosed with manic depression and severe anxiety. I am currently on Xanax, but will be taken off of it this week because i will be starting psychotherapy. For anyone who’s going through anything, absolutely anything, i 100% recommend going to therapy. Don’t think of it as help, but more as support. 2018 is the year i will kick depression & anxiety’s asses.

I also want to caution you - I went to see a psychiatrist who told me I was bipolar and neede depakote ad lithium.
Well, that person was WRONG. I actually developed a medical disorder which caused me to have anxiety, sleeplessness and all other symptoms.
I was in full blown thyrotoxicosis and they decided to treat me with psychiatric medications instead of treating the medical issue.
Thank god I had the brains to go for a second opinion.
Take good care of yourself.
