Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I can only assume that those of us here on DS come from different socioeconomic lifestyles. In our economic system we have a poor working class, a middle class, and a upper class. President Obama is once again making class warfare a center post of his campaign. Basically he is trying to pit the haves against the dont haves. He is proposing that the Bush Tax Cuts that expire soon be renewed for all tax payers EXCEPT those taxpayers earning over $250,000 per year per household. Obama contends that the additional taxes from the higher earners will fix our deficit problem.
The projections have been made, and the truth is that the additional taxes collected from the wealthiest among us will amount to enough money to run the government for only 8 days.
So whats the point then by taxing the 1% of earners more than the rest? Its simple class warfare. The strategy of divide and conquer which I find unethical. Thoughts?

I don't know where you are getting your information ImmortalKaim, but its way off base.
If the government focused on staying ON BUDGET and in creating environments where businesses could flourish (as in HIRE more people) then a lot of these problems would go away.

I don't disagree with you that he has extraordinary influence on the Obama administration. I was correct that he was CEO and Chairman of the Board, but I made a mistake on his position at the New York FED. I meant to say that he was the head (or chair) of its Board of Directors of the New York FED, but that also isn't quite correct, but he is a Class A Director (I would have looked it up earlier, but it was a pain on my phone's slow wi-fi).
This nation is not a republic. It has degenerated into mobocracy. Soon will come the Man on Horseback and the dictatorship.
History teaches many lessons to those who will be teachable.
Remember: All power has been delegated to 535 people. 434 Congressoids, 100 Senatoids, and 1 President.
They have abjectly failed to lead this nation; have set the stage for its demise.
