Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hey everyone, I'm here to share my story with you if you don't mind listening.
I've been struggling with depression as long as I can remember. My first suicide attempt was at 8(?) years old. Everyday, I just try and get through the day without hurting myself or having a mental breakdown. I feel like I'm just going through the motions because I have to.
I have no happiness in my life, my recent boyfriend (who actually made me extremely happy), broke up with me this morning because he can't "emotionally commit". I have no meaning in my life, obviously no husband, no children. I have no reason to get up in the morning.
After talking with the Crisis Hotline, I'm still horribly suicidal. I feel like there's no point to continue each day. I have no reason to live. If I went through with it, I would finally be free of all the daily misery and pain.
Opinions? Thank you.
