Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Today at my track practice, I had a pretty bad panic attack. My team saw me break down and cry. No one tried to help. They starred at me and watch me cry and shake and not being able to slow down my breathing. It took 5 mins for one of my teammates to get me up and bring me to the bathroom. By this time the attack was over but I felt like a baby. Crying in front of my team. I'm the team rock. I'm suppose to be strong. I wasn't. I'm not. I can't even keep myself together anymore. I'm sitting in my bed right now crying. I shouldn't be crying. I don't know why I'm crying. I'm sitting here crying and looking for answers I know I might never find.

I have no idea why nobody helped but I'd say that if they didn't do anything about it then, they won't do anything about it tomorrow either, so you can just wipe that slate clean and start over.
Have a good cry. Us girls do cry here and there. it's just a girl thing. Give yourself some time to breathe and figure out what's bugging you. And then you can probably take it from there.

Here is a brief explanation of it from Psychology Today.....
"The bystander effect occurs when the presence of others discourages an individual from intervening in an emergency situation. Social psychologists Bibb Latané and John Darley popularized the concept following the infamous 1964 Kitty Genovese murder in New York City. Genovese was stabbed to death outside her apartment while bystanders who observed the crime did not step in to assist or call the police. Latané and Darley attributed the bystander effect to the perceived diffusion of responsibility (onlookers are more likely to intervene if there are few or no other witnesses) and social influence (individuals in a group monitor the behavior of those around them to determine how to act). In Genovese's case, each onlooker concluded from their neighbors' inaction that their own personal help was not needed."
I did a paper on this for my social psychology class way way back when I was a college student.
