Hi guys. I am Violet. I have dealt with anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember. I have been a lurker for awhile, and decided to join in. I am still trying to figure out the right treatment for myself.

Hi, I am new here and appreciate your post. I will be "Officially" introducing myself to the group soon. By looking at my profile, I went right off the bat and joined all the groups that apply to me. Hoping to introduce myself to each one.

I'm still rather new here, as I came across and joined DS just last month. I have been battling depression over the last couple of years, being triggered by a year of what seemed to be constant situations for my family. My dad passed away April of this year, throwing that depression into a major whirlwind. I finally went to my doctor and have started taking zoloft and also ativan. This was the first I even realized anxiety was an issue for me, but looking back now I realize this has been an ongoing thing for me for a very long time.
I have found comfort and understanding here at DS, and am so thankful to have run across it. Nice to meet you all!

My depression is mostly situational, and procrastination really fuels it.

That funny CL thing on my avatar is for Community Leader, the DS equivalent of a user moderator. The title is rather misleading though, most days I have no idea where this group is going! If you have questions about DS or this group you can ask me; I don't always know the answer but I can come close and then point you in the right direction.

I can also close posts, but that is the limit of my super powers here!

I Suffered with depression for 6 long years. My depression nearly killed me .........twice.

I am happy to say that I Have Been "Depression Free" For the last Two and a half years :-)

I Found this place quite by accident. After reading several of the posts here, and being able to relate so well to the pain, I wanted to try to help :-)

I am Diane. I am 54 and suffer severe depression and anxiety. Just diagnosed a month ago, but have been depressed most of my life. My biggest trigger is yet another relationshp break up. This one was a real kick in the butt, someone who supported me while I was in hospital, and still says he loves me, and has not abandonded me, yet today I see he is on a dating webiste. So much for the support from someone who loves me. We have been dating since January and were exclusive, every weekend, etc. Glad I have my therapy appointment tonight.

Hi all, I am Cory. I have been depressed for years, hide it well, (even from myself) but changes in my life bring it out. Along with the root of depression I suffer from other things. Hi! I am new here! Found this place by accident... so I guess some accidents are good??? That doesn't sound right... it must apply to me! I am 43 years old and not a lot of friends mostly people that know the me that they want to see. I keep everything locked inside and find it hard to let others see the real me. Hoping that this is a safe place where I can let some of my depression and fears go... But just a hint... Its crap don't pick it up let it lay!

Well hat ells to say, hmmmm well a smart man once said In technical terminology, hes a loon! and that pretty much sums me up. Oh and I love animals and am a total geek, yep sorry guys I did say geek!
