Wow, that is a high fever. Have you been able to talk to her doctor?

I had a fever of 104 once, worst one I ever had and I didn't go to a doctor. Its probably just standard influenza, you know, the flu that comes around every year around this time. The main goal here is to get the fever down. You do this by a multiple of things, tylonal pills are one, using cold rags on the forhead. Forcing down liquids as much as you possibly can, and eating soap when you can.

The doctor will probably say the same thing, unless he finds an infection of some sort, then he would prescribe antibiotics. So maybe a doctor isn't such a bad idea, I am just saying, there is a lot one can do for oneself without medical attention.

Ohhhh Bill, my typo is your fault you know, you were distracting me with your sillyness. hehe Yes I meant soup. Soap would not taste good, and it would make you vomit sooner then later. A bowl of chicken soup is the proper medicine, that and tylonal with some water auda do. Oh, and lots of rest in bed. Some people with flu's like to wonder around, they are afraid the world will end unless they do house chores.

Trust me, if the world was going to end tomarrow, it would have done it with or without your dedication to house chores lol.

Pepper, I talked to the doctor. They ruled out the flu and pneumonia. They think it might be from a UTI she recently had or a bronchial infection. She is coming down with a cold so I wonder if it is indeed a bronchial infection, but he did say something about bacteria in her urine. They have her on IV antibiotics.

Please keep us posted. It could definitely be a UTI. I think I've told you in the past that my dad ( he's 81 ) has been admitted to the hospital for a UTI before.. fever and disoriented . I know it could be a number of things and I pray the IV anitbiotics will help quickly. . I'm praying for her and you know you are always in my prayers too. Love you.

Looks like there is possibly an infection afterall. And there is always bacteria in urin isn't there? Its more then likely he's talking about a specific form of bacteria which is not supposed to be present. Well, your mother is in good hands sweetheart, medicine has never been as good as it is today. :)

No, there isn't always bacteria in urine. That is a sign of an infection.
