Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You really helped the other day. You are a good person and this world is needing more good people, that is one reason why you should not die.
Another is you are loved, you have made an impact on someone else in your life, you know you had. When I asked you this, did someone's face pop into your mind? If so, then reach out to this person.

I once thought suicide was a viable option. Actually, I thought it was the ONLY option. But today, many years of happiness later, I'm alive and damn glad I didn't take that option. Remember that nothing is permanent and consider that millions of people have suffered as bad as you, maybe even worse, and have held on to life until they got better. That's right. People do come out of depression and conquer anxiety and go on to live normal and even happy lives. I can say this because I'm one of them.

Hang in there, Richie . . . you're going to be okay, perhaps much sooner than you can imagine right now.
Personally, having survived two serious suicide attempts, the ideation never comes upon me any more. I choose life, because it seems to have better possibilities.
I may not have helped you, but I gave it my best shot!!!
My only offering is - things often look better or you have a different perception on a different day. See what tomorrow brings. It may not be as bad as you think it will be.

When I was considering suicide, I was asked if I really wanted to choose an all too permanent solution to a temporary problem. Of course I wasn't sure at that time that the problem was temporary but in retrospect I know now that it was indeed a temporary problem.
Teresa520 asked about the affect your suicide would have on others and I understand that your thinking is probably too self absorbed at this time to care. But in my case, everytime I considered suicide, the one big thing that kept me alive was the realization that the people I left behind would, in some small way or maybe in a big way, blame themselves for not being more caring or understanding. I just didn't feel like I had a right to burden anyone with such a guilt trip.
Wishing you happier days,
