I'm Ritsumei, Japanese for peace of mind. I just joined yesterday. I'm 21 and I've never been diagnosed with depression, my parents only say go exercise. I've struggled with depression and self injury since high school. I love reading and drawing helps with my moods. I'm just now staring to look for a therapist.

Hi, I am Erika and was a member once before (cant remember my screen name). I suffer from depression, anxiety and mood problems. I am back because I feel so depressed lately and I never seem to feel good for long periods of time. Im tired. Im tired of the struggle. I need support and I dont know what to do. I do not feel therapy is that helpful as I have had these issues since I was 13 (36 now).

I have two daughters 29 and 20 and the 29 year old is being treated for drug addiction and and eating disorder.
I live on the East Coast and I'm recovering from depression.

ritsumei... sorry to say that lots of parents are that way.. My son is very lucky to know the difference.. He is also 21 and we just got him started on meds..good luck with that..

Hi I'm Mel, 32 have 2 daughters. I have been on here since March. Had surgery in Feb and had issues coming off the pain meds, was left with horrible depression. Assuming I have been depressed for awhile but was cooping with it some way and that the pills became addicting for me cause of the depression. I am in the medicine battle now on #4, Wellbutrin XL hope it works, with summer 2 days away I need to find the energy to take care of my two girls.

I've been depressed and anxious all my life. Things seem to be getting better slowly since I got sober and into therapy. I still have good days and bad days, but the good days seem to outnumber the bad when I use my tools.

I've been here about 18 months - found the place when depression hit me for the second time and I had to wait 6 weeks to see a doctor - I think I probably owe what sanity I have left to DS!! I have a son 21 who has just finished Uni and a daughter of 18, and have slowly been getting better since finding meds that work. Don't always post or comment much but do read the boards almost every day.
Oh - and I live in the UK!

I'm Oldbiker. Been here almost 3 years. Father of 5 children (one is deceased), have 10 grandchildren, ex-biker, ex-alcoholic and drug user--been drug and alcohol fee for 37 years and a Minister and Pastor for 34 years.
Dealt with depression and nervous breakdown but, still here to try to help others any way I can.

Oh I've been here about a month I think and my depression has gotten much better since I joined. Being here really help me eventhough I don't start a lot of threads. I do like to read and reply in the hope I'm helping somebody else feel a little better.

I'm new here. I originally joined for the food addiction forum, but realized this is likely the place I need to be as well. I've been on and off of antidepressants for the last 15 years or so. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, sometimes they make me a walking zombie.

I am recovering from shoulder surgery, so the depression has been a dominant factor in my life.

I have 3 boys, ages 8, 10, and 21 in a few days. I suffer from anxiety that is related to my oldest son and the relationship my children have with my ex husband (their dad).

I'm married to a boilermaker, I'm a full time student taking 18 hours a semester majoring in psychology.

Hello! My name's Stacey and I'm brand spanking new here. I have been struggling with depression since I was in my junior year of high school, so for about six years now. It began with an eating disorder and self harm, which thankfully I have both overcome. Now I am struggling to work my way through depression along with anxiety and panic attacks, along with constant stress of good ole regular life that just won't seem to go away.

Anyway, I'm twenty three years old and I enjoy working out, spending time on the internet, reading about anything I can get my hands on, watching movies. I'm a horrible reality TV junkie.
