Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Best wishes and comforting thoughts.
My husband committed suicide. He thought no one could love him through his mistakes and pain. He didn't give us a chance to. My life is ruined. I died with him. I wish he would have taken a moment, a minute, a day to think. If he had any idea the pain his death would cause he wouldn't have done this. If he had any idea his once sweet loving wife would now think about killing herself everyday he wouldn't have done this.
Anyways this isn't about me. This is about you and how you are feeling. I hate that you are hurting. I wish you weren't. All I can tell you is please don't.
Perhaps once you've made a decision at the crossroads of whether to live or die, and have maybe chosen the 'live' path, it'll get more interesting? There is nothing worse that I know of than sitting with a decision in front of you that you cannot make. I would imagine people would attempt suicide in the end just to get the hellish problem out of the way. But really: choosing life is just as easy. And probably has got something in it.
Thing is tho, if you have already tried killing yourself, surely going and volunteering at the local pet centre would be a piece of piss? I mean, surely that's way easier. And it would after all be interesting and get you out the house. And who knows how it would end up. You'd feel strange and lonely at teh beginning, but by a few months in, they'll all feel like old friends there, you will be comfortable.
And then maybe you can join a tramping club, or a painting group.
The trick with growing your life is to choose one small thing you can handle, incorporate it into your life, and then (this is the important bit) KEEP SHOWING UP. Even if you feel stupid for something you said or did last week? KEEP SHOWING UP. People forget. Their lives move very fast. They don't remember anything you did or said last week. I've watched a workmate who is a liar, cheat, shirker and general toxic beast become accepted simply by showing up. If she can do it without topping herself, you've got a WAY better right to do it.
So just... you've got this. And dying clearly isn't the thing that's going to happen. Just give life a go. How bad can it be?
Then find the closer home / hospital for the profoundly retarded
You , like them ,can touch somebody on some level that you make a difference
We all tend to wallow in ourselves
Self awareness is healthy
Self absorbtion is not, it leads to over inflated view of oneself or undervalued view of oneself
Somehow you've gotten sideways and think you can't make a difference or matter in your own life
Or on the people's lives that you care about
So
Don't try to
But
Realize that a kind act, no matter how small, for a complete stranger can tip the balance for them , make them think that the world isn't such a cold place
You should consider that
The three people that I've known that committed suicide ...
All where people that were not self centered blow hards that took from this world
They just couldn't see all that they gave
Your title is screaming for attention, and I think that's what you're looking for more than anything.
Some days I just say I don't want to be here. Life never works well for me and I tend to loose. I'm now in my 40's feeling like I've just existed and survived and never fully lived. :-(
Sending you big hugs.
