Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Today I woke up feeling very bad. I had a lot of trouble to get out of bed, because I dont see why I would still fight, since notting will change, there's no reason to take a shower for example, to wear nice clothes, I feel like crap, nobody will notice me, and for me doesnt make any difference. I'll still be alone, still be in my parents control, still feel like a burden to my only friend, still feel like I have left my home when I came back to Brazil. I have lost all the hope.
I know I have to fight, I have to find a reason to live, that someday maybe I'll find someone else, someday I'll get promoted in my job. But I dont have hope anymore, I just want to lay down in my bed and see my life pass in front of my eyes.
I want to die. It will make everything much more easy. I dont have the courage to kill myself. I cant even do that. It would be easy to everybody, I wouldnt be a burden anymore, and I wouldnt suffer anymore. I really want to die in a car accident for example, but then when I'm in a car I'm so afraid to die that I go into panic. So I even dont know what I want. The depression and anxiety are destroying me.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

I feel just like you, maybe we can talk
Fros - I add you as a friend, lets talk.
Carolin57 - Thats exactly why I came to work, I need this to try to chance anything, unfortunately, its not going to be fast enought. I still have something inside me saying that I have to fight, even when my mind says its not worthy. I see my life now as its black and white, it losed all the color on it. But I'm still trying.
Perry314 - I used your advise, and just had a massage. It was very good. And with the support of everybody here, I see that I'm not alone, its comforting. Its very good to know that I matter.
TooMuch - I'm trying very hard to be kind with me, unfortunately its something that I have great failures a lot of times. Its a very hard battle everyday with myself about it. This weekend it will be a huge holiday here in Brazil, and besides the plans of going to yoga at the park that I have, I'm sure I'll be in bed all the time.
Here people go to parties, and bars, go dancing (another thing that I cant do), things that maybe I could do, if I dominate my mind, but then has the problem of companion, that I dont have, since I only have one friend. (I have social phobia too), thats another point that Netflix has. Its complicated, but I'm trying.
I've quit coffee as well, it make some difference, but not enought for quitting forever, I need coffee to say awake. And I really like going to Starbucks and sit overthere and have my 30 minutes of peace with nobody screaming with me, besides my own mind of course.
Carolin57 I was always a lazy person, not like this of course. I'll probably go to the park this weekend, I'll try very hard.
brill3reess - I have message you.
NOTHING.
So wallow. Wallow your way through this depressive episode. Absolutely wallow. Wallow till you're sick of it. Wallow till you're so bored with it you're willing to do anything - ANYTHING to relieve the tedium.
Even... get out of bed and go for a walk. And at that point, when you have thoroughly wallowed, you will find you have the strength, boredom, energy to get up and operate.
You have to learn to manage your energy systems. That means nutrition, sleep, relaxation, rest. You have to learn how to drive this particular car that you've got. don't read text books on cars in general, don't ask other people how to drive. You don't need to know how to operate their vehicle. You need to learn how to operate your own.
And that's a private, personal experience. When you get energy sorted you will find depression will sort itself. And don't be some bullshit expert looking in at yourself. Don't 'obey rules'. don't 'do what you're told'. OMG I have never had a result doing what other, thicker, people thought would fix me because they've read it in a book that someone else, thick, wrote based on ideas and theories of other people that they read in some book, too. I have had a result learning myself how to function, myself, and figure out based on my own personal experiences with this particular body that I have, how to make it do its best.
Own yourself and gain your own primary knowledge of your systems. You are you. You're not a rat and life isn't an experiment.
Learn to make your own decisions and stand up for them.
