Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

It is a UK leaflet but surely they can advise you the law in Ireland? I am sure it must also be illegal there. It might be the hardest thing you ever do but you need to get some help in this situation. I can't believe parents can do that.
I really don't care which culture you are from, you are being abused and you need some tools to deal with this. If you are in Ireland, as your profile indicates, contact the police. Be sure you have evidence, such as the needles and any possible recorded phone conversations or written messages from your mom telling you to inject steroids and whom you have to marry.
Personally, I think your mom is using your culture to do things which are totally unacceptable in Western culture, where you are currently living. Break the cycle of abuse, by refusing as an adult to obey your mother, and bring her to justice.
Sorry to be so strong, I just hate that you are being manipulated into these abusive situations and I want to support you to get some help!
It's abuse if your mom is injecting steroids into your body without your consent. Is it legal in your country? I don't know. I don't know exactly where you are. But, yes, this is abuse no matter where you're from.
THE LEGAL POSITION
42 Although there is no specific offence of forcing someone to
marry in Northern Ireland, offences may nevertheless be
committed. Perpetrators usually parents or family members,
but not exclusively such could be prosecuted for offences
including conspiracy, threatening behaviour, assault, kidnap,
abduction, theft (of passports or other travel or identifying
documents), threats to kill, imprisonment and murder. Sexual
intercourse without proper informed consent is rape, regardless
of whether this occurs within a marriage or not. A woman who
is forced into marriage is likely to be raped and may be raped
until she becomes pregnant.
43 There are a number of civil and family orders that can be
made to protect those threatened with, or already in, a forced
marriage. For children, an application for a care or supervision
order can be made under the Children (Northern Ireland)
Order 1995 or wardship proceedings may be issued in the
High Court. Adults can seek an order for protection from
harassment or non-molestation.
44 A Forced Marriage Protection Order can be sought under the
Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 to protect both
adults and children at risk of being forced into marriage and to
offer protection for those who have already been forced into
marriage. This Act is designed to enable the courts to tailor the
terms of an order to protect and meet the specific needs of
victims of forced marriage or potential forced marriage.
45 Some forced marriages will be legally valid until they are
annulled or a divorce is granted by the court. Others will not
be legally valid but may also need to be annulled. There are
strict legal requirements that govern whether a marriage is
valid under UK law and the rules for recognising a marriage
vary depending on which country the marriage took place.
When considering the validity of a marriage, particularly a
marriage that took place overseas, specialist legal advice
should be sought. However, agencies should not assume that
a marriage is invalid because it was forced, this will most often
not be the case.
Committees will take the lead role in developing operational
policies and procedures for multi-disciplinary, interagency
working and information sharing to safeguard and promote
the welfare of children, which includes protecting children at
risk from harm. The Northern Ireland Adult Safeguarding
Partnership14 and Local Partnerships will perform the same
functions in relation to protecting adults at risk from harm.
Maintaining strong and effective links between the childrens
and adult protection structures, Multi-Agency Risk
Assessment Conferences and the Public Protection
Arrangements Northern Ireland will be of particular
importance in the overall safeguarding framework for both
children and vulnerable adults.
