Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I decided after a few months of changing my dr. and trying to get off of medication that I was wrong. It just is not working. I got back in touch with my old dr. and will see her next week. I cancelled with the new one, they wanted to know why. I assured them that it was not them, but that there is just too much change in my life right now, and that I thought I could handle different meds or no meds, but I was very wrong. I feel significantly less depression and anxiety on the days I take my original med, so I am just going to return to what works. I had originally quit due to being worried about long term side effects, but there are just too many problems to mention. My thoughts go all to the wrong place, and I stay awake until dawn, this is just not working out. It's not healthy. I hope she won't be too upset and that we can continue on the path that we were because I was slipping. I tried to be nice with the new dr. office, I just explained that the change is just very destabilizing for me and that I need to stick with what works. It wasn't anything they did or did not do. So much has changed in my life, I just can't handle the destabilization of a bunch of meds that don't work for me when there was one that did the trick pretty much.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

I wouldn't worry about long term side effects that may or may not even happen. I was on an anxiety drug that the most common side effect was weight gain. I never gained any weight. I actually lost some weight. So these drug companies sometimes put down any and every side effect that *might* happen, to like 1% of the population. Try not to worry about side effects. The benefits outweigh any possible side effects (that probably won't happen anyway, as every person is different)..
