I was hit with some sort of flu (tested negative twice) and was knocked out in bed for four days. I had a decent week afterwards, but then I came down with a cold the following week, which put me in bed for two days. I'm mostly recovered, except I still have some remnants of congestion. However, I have been feeling depressed for the past few days. I've been going to sleep at 9, which is early for me. I presume it's a combination of too much alone time and the immune system overdrive negatively impacting the neurotransmitters or something. Has anyone else experienced mood changes from having been sick? Thanks!

I am sorry you have been so sick and then now have to face the depression state. I would guess it takes our bodies some time for the immune system to recover. I am hearing of some bad flu stuff going around.
I had the old "bird flu" or H1N1 in 2009 and got so sick and then a month afterwards of deep depression and even thoughts of self-harm. Never had that before, never thought about self-harm before. I decided to give it a month and then go to the doctor. And after a month, all that depression just lifted was gone. Then I looked up after effects of the H1N1 and it said depression.

I had sinus surgery a few months ago for the 2nd time since 2020 and my sinus's are the pits again
Everything seems like a huge effort and I know a lot of that is due to mood
