I dont know what to do about these feelings of isolation. I spend almost all my time alone. I have a small family for who I am grateful but I dont see them as much as I would like. I have one friend who I see once or twice a week. My job is such that I am alone for several hours every morning. I literally sit there crying almost every morning at work, but there is no one to see me, so it doesnt matter. I spend most of my time when I am not at work home, sleeping. I used to have a lot of interests. Now it takes all I have just to get out of bed each morning. I see a counselor once a week and I feel okay when I am there. Some nights I feel okay, but every morning the sense of isolation and desolation is back. Does anyone else feel like this?

Many of us feel that way hon, and it's really unfortunate. Do you have any idea what has brought this on so quickly? I would really like to support you and try to help you but I'm not sure what is causing this for you. Are you, or have you, ever been depressed? Because it sounds like you are going through a severe case of it. Something had to cause you to lose your interests and we just need to figure out what and why. I really hope we are able to help you. Please keep posting and letting us know how you are doing. There is lots of help and understanding here.

Oh, yeah, sorry, I guess I left out a lot! I am 45 and was diagnosed with depression and OCD when I was 15. I was pretty active in my 20s. In my 30s, I started spending entire days in bed. I hated every job I ever had until I got my dream job 10 years ago. But four years ago we moved locations and I feel so isolated at the new location. I am the only employee in a family business. The owners are very good to me but I am alone much of the time and all I can think about is my lonliness. I used to love my job but now dread going to work. And I feel guilty about that. I know I also am not as productive as I used to be. My one boss knows I have depression but I dont think the other one knows. Even when I am not working I will sit at home crying and feeling isolated.

Hello! My family, here in this country, are my daughter, away in college, and my 87 year old mother, that I help.I leave alone,I just broke up with a boy friend of 14 years,I decided I was an unhealthy relationship. I do feel alone, isolated, anxious.I do plan activities,I make plans to go out and see people but then I keep changing my mind,I loose interest. It's also very difficult for me to get out of bed, sometimes I sleep a lot. I do have hope that one of this days my depression is going to go away. I vented a little but with the idea that a bet of my story might help you some. You are not alone, that's what I tell myself, but when we are depress that feeling seems very real to us. Seeing a counselor is a good idea,we need someone to talk. I'm here so we could help each other. Let's have faith!

I use to feel like you all the time. So alone and isolated. What little interactions I did have with others just seem to be pointless and not of any real help. I realized however that those interactions where the way they were because they weren't what I was needing. They were objective interactions, meaning they only served a business like need and not a personal social need. I have no interactions with others (what little interactions I did have) that where personal social based like friends and family. That's when I started to get more involved in my church and community. Not just Sunday services, but volunteering and events and anything I found interesting or I thought I could help with. That made it alot better. I soon had friends, invites to homes and places, fun and so on. I now spend more of my time with others in a personal social way and less time alone and isolated. What I am trying to say is that maybe it would help to go beyond those interactions you have with others that are only to meet an object and look for opportunities you can get involved in on a social way to make friends and such. Sorry, this is the best I got base on what I've done. I wish you the best.

I feel the same way. I am grateful for my parents, I have no one to talk to. I cry myself to sleep. Sometimes I wish that I was never born in this world.

Isolation is a bitch to get through. It is one of the hardest human emotions to figure out. I am in hell by myself as we speak. Here hoping that both of us can figure this out sooner than later!

Everyday I feel more and more sick. Being in pain every day, I've learned to disguise it. So well that others don't believe my pain when I speak of it. Needing help but only receiving negative responses, I find my way but pay for it later. I absolutely need the rest but there's pressing things to be done.

Ugh my depression is really being triggered by the grief of losing my mom. Ugh it sucks. I wish this pain would leave me already.
