I've had what has to be my worst day in months and I am really struggling to cope at the moment.
I was placed on meds (paxil, buspar, and klonopin) a month ago. The pdoc gave me prescriptions that were for 30 days with no refills, but my next appointment was not for over 30 days later. So there would be a gap where I would be without meds until my appointment next Wednesday. I know I should call about the issue, but I hate making phone calls and have been putting it off. I have 2 days supply left of my paxil and buspar so I stopped taking them. I think today is my third day off of them. I have not felt any side effects since going off on them, but today I have been off and that may have to do with it.
I live with my mother who has her own mental issues, but she does not acknowledge them or get help from them. It's obvious she has bad anxiety and OCD (amongst other issues). She is constantly worrying and paranoid. She is also very negative and uptight and freaks out over the smallest of issues. She also constantly complains. Her negativity and issues sometimes really gets to me and triggers my anxiety.
Today was one of those days. I did not sleep well last night and I woke up because I heard my mom complaining this morning. Then she completely had a meltdown because she caused the toilet to over flow and it aggravated my anxiety big time. It was so bad I had to go for a walk just to get away for that moment.
When I got back I laid down and was watching tv and she came in and was complaining about something. I asked her to be quiet and she flipped out on me and told me I wasn't a good person so that really got me depressed and feeling worthless.
I was talking to a friend after that and I think I overreacted to something he said because I was feeling so worthless and sensitive and now I feel like I ruined the friendship.
I went to lay down because I was so upset, but my mom came upstairs and was worrying about something. I asked her to stop because I couldn't handle it today and she really flipped out and implied she might commit suicide some day. I have no support where I live except my mother so the thought of her ending her life because of me and leaving me alone just devastated me. It just makes me feel scared, alone, worthless, and like I'd be better off dead myself.
I tried to talk to my friend again to distract me from my feelings of self harm, but I kept screwing it up.
So now I am just feeling depressed and the loneliness is completely unbearable. I feel so hopeless and worthless. My anxiety got so bad I vomited on the floor. It hasn't been this bad in months.
I'm just so lost and fragile right now. All I want is to get better and not be alone in this life, but these things feel so impossible.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm glad you got your Rx refilled. I'm sure you didn't ruin your friendship; if it's a good one, he wouldn't flake out just because you over-reacted to something. He must know you're having a hard time.
As for your mom, I can imagine how rough it must be to live with somebody who isn't treating her own mental issues. With depression and anxiety, it's hard enough being around healthy people, much less needy and negative ones.
Here's hoping things are looking a bit brighter today .... {{{hugs}}}
As for your meds. You just have to call your pharmacy and they will make all the other arrangements for you. You don't have to go through all the hassle and it is much quicker. Or, at least where I live they will do that.
Please take your meds. The reason the first two days were not so bad was because your body has a build up of the medication that takes some time to leave. Sounds like you are running on empty right now. It is so close to your appointment I don't think the doctor will mind filling it. So, please call you pharmacy.
Wishing you good luck and that you feel better soon.
Could you explain to a friend what happened. I am sure that they will understand
As for your Mom, is there any way that you could encourage her to get the help and support that she needs or is this something that you have tried before?x
get as far away from your mom as possible, if you can; put in an application for hud if have to, to some public housing (in a town, not some dangerous city).
you might think you can at least put up with your mom's negativity, and that she actually does support you----but I thought the SAME about my negative parents, with lots of GUILT THEY INSTILLED IN ME.
looking back, it's mind boggling how little my parents did for me---though they deluded themselves, and brain washed me, into thinking they were such saints....drunken, negative, money-wasting, cold-hearted, saints.
if your mom lives another 10 years, and you stay with her another 10 years, you'll only have depressing memories, and wish 10 years too late that you didn't get out----which is my life story.
Please try not to go off meds next time when u get low call them in so u don't run out & i'm truly sorry what your dealing with your mom is there any other support u can talk to to get help for your mom & if that is a true friend they will stand by you thru all this.
im pray your feeling bettter please keep writing.
((((Hugs,Angel))))).
