Favorite Aunt is in the Hospital

I saw her last Thursday at the nursing home and she was her usual self.  My cousin called me early on Saturday morning to say that she was sent to the hospital in bad shape.  I visited her on Sunday with my brother and yesterday after work.  I can't believe the difference in her.  She looks like she aged 10 years overnight.  Her voice is weak.  I told her that I will come again today.  Thankfully, she didn't have another stroke but she has several other things going on.  I feel like we will lose her soon and I will forever miss her.  I've been listening to Cat Stevens on the way to work.  "Morning Has Broken" makes me cry, thinking of the future and her funeral.  Damn, tears are rolling down my cheeks.

I am praying for your aunt to pull thru and make a full recovery rather than die.....but it is God who decides who and when...

Thanks everyone for the prayers! They are needed! I didn't go to the gym yesterday. I just wanted to be with my Aunt. I brought her chicken nuggets per her request, which she enjoyed and a can of Coke and some chocolate (she's a chocoholic).

My papa was in the hospital last week. Hee got a lot going on with his health. I can relate. Just be there as often as you can

Mel and Sun, I am just seeing your replies tonight. Thank you! Mel, thanks for acknowledging my dedication to my Aunt. After the hospital, she got transferred to a new nursing home. The hospital reported the original nursing home to the State for neglect and I don't know what else. The new nursing home is farther away. I can no longer visit her during the week on workdays. Her delusions have almost completely subsided but now she has another UTI, probably from the Foley. My brother and I went to visit her today and she was so normal. She even let me put Stevia in her hot tea. That was a small miracle. Signing off for the night!
