A while back , or shall I say back in 2012 I was physically , sexually, mentally, and financially abused by my cousin to this day it's still affecting me. People tell me all the time that I'm still allowing him to win and have power by being in my head. On top of that I was diagnosed with ocd back in 2000, when I was abused it made my harm ocd worse. Well for the last few years my ocd has been really bad, I miss my old life sometimes we take our lives for granted because I really messed up, I didn't open my mouth to the cops, nor friends or family, I didn't tell anyone about my abuse until I finally had a chance to get a way and be able to tell someone. to this day I feel like I'm a bad person, I miss my life, I want the old me back. I might have been unhappy but not nearly as unhappy as I am now, on top of the trauma I had two deaths of people really close to me that I never really got to grief over. For the last two weeks my ocd has got me thinking I don't care anymore, that I am a bad person, and then my depression is kicking in because I know I'm not happy, but I want to be happy just don't know how. I'm just feeling really scared and alone right now and I have no body I can talk to. My family doesn't know how to help me, my friends tell me that I am in control i'm just to my limit. I wish the abuse never happened because back then I knew who I was now I don't even know who I am. I cant see my therapist because of insurance reasons. I just really need someone to talk to and help me through this, I haven't posted on here in a long time.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

But it's not a worse you. It's just different.
I don't know how to describe the hell time between the old you and the new you. I know it was truly awful for me. But now I look back and I don't think it's a problem. I could not have got HERE, without going through that. And I don't actually want to be back at that first place.
You think you do because you're fearless. You're dancing on a precipice and you don't know how insecure you are. Now you know, and you dream of the days before when it was all simple.
It never was simple, and if you had known then what you know now, you would have kept yourself safe. But this is the hell we have to go through to learn how to keep ourselves safe in the future.
I really benefited from counselling. Go to your GP and see if he/she can recommend any good counsellors. I paid a charity very little to see a counsellor and it was the saving of me.
Otherwise just talk to us! :)
