Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
A "Trigger" is something that though benign to others has very great significance to the who gets triggered and goes off on a rampage. They either hurt them-self's, others or knowing they are triggered just shut down..There is a reverse to this that I have found and it is them tears! Tears of happiness, tears of sadness...oh it just goes on and on....
there is a news article that is pretty good. It mentions depression in the last sentence though. In it it is talking about neuron genesis and the fact that right by the hipo-campus(?) which is charge of memories or something like that, that neurons are constantly being generated.
You can find this article at foxnews.com under the science heading. look for the Atombomb and the brain title.
Sorry if I kind of highjacked your thread as I have been trying to do a post about it but as usual to no avail.
did that make any sense at all?
rainy weather..I have been diagnosed with seasonal affective disorder
in addition to typical depression.
Don't get me wrong, I believe that there are some triggers where the best we can hope for is to avoid them.
sometimes I just wake up depressed sometimes I do have 'triggers' that bring it on later in day.
I never thought of the word triggers for it. but activate/add to it.
but I like triggers better.
most of the time I look at the good in my life sometimes that 'walks' me out of depression.
although I was thinking yesterday why is it called depressed ?
seems like it should b 'pressed' ..
My anxiety seems to have triggers but I'm not really sure how it gets triggered but that anxiety cycle can cause my depression to spiral.
So I think you are right that triggers exist for depression.
Have you found a way to deal with conflict and bullies?
