Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hi, guys! I'm 16 years old and I need help. More than 3 months ago I ended a relationship. We were together for 6 months, yeah I know, not to much, but it was my first relationship ever. We weren't supposed to be together, we've shouldn't but... we fell in love. He is 20 years older than me (also has a wife and kids). It was my first... everything, I mean, I had my first kiss, I had sex for first time (he was very gentle, I can't imagine a better first time). At first it was great, but to bee sure I asked him very often, if he want to end the things (you understand the reason), but he answered every time, that if he doesn't feel OK, he's gonna tell me. But 2 months after everything started he became different. I thought it was my fault, I tried talking to him, but he didn't really want to share, to clear everything. We were having sex and a couple of days after each time everything was like before... but only for a few days. So nearly at the end of our relationship I asked him if he wants we to see each other an he said yes. Yes, we did it, we had sex, again I thought it will help and everything is gonna be OK. This time was different, it was like he used me and in the end he just wanted me to go away. The next day I told him how I felt and we had a fight. We ended the things a month later. My parent don't know anything about this hole thing and I don't have anybody to share.
Now, I've still haven't gotten over it. I have some kind of panic attacks, when the memories just appear, for a moment eveis OK and in the next I'm laying on the floor and can't stop crying. I don't fell OK. I did some online tests - maybe I have PTSD and I'm pretty sure I have depression. I can't go to the therapist or psychologist because that way my parents will find out. I really don't know what to do. HELP! Please

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Does anyone follow her? She's really got some good tips.
I promise you it will be okay. You have your whole life in front of you. You will get over this pathetic excuse for a man. At you age you are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them, sometimes the hard way. But he should have known better than to have any kind of relationship especially someone as young as you.
You don't have to tell Mom and Dad because very often they just don't understand. I dated a man of 31 years of age when I was only 19 and it was a horrible mistake as he only wanted one thing. I was very insecure at the time and thought he was special. He was special alright! He was a total ass who didn't even have the right to talk to me let alone anything more which I should have never allowed. I dumped him because of a few things he had done that offended me. That did a lot for my self esteem. So what if he ended things with you. I think he did you a favor, because you are better off without him for sure. You will be better than fine sooner than you know.
I'm here for you whenever you feel like talking or whatever. Just please don't worry about this as this too will pass. Until the next time, Gai8l

I found this online. They will talk to you and you can remain anonymous. They will not report anything to your parents or legal authorities or anybody. You don't have to have been assaulted to talk to them either.
Although I think what this man did to you was abusive and in many of the united states would be considered statutory rape.
Sorry for how bad you are feeling. If I were you, I'd give the hotline a call and find out more about what they offer and let someone there help you. What you went through sounds traumatic to me. This man hurt you and took advantage of you.
Perhaps you could see your family doctor too without your parents knowing exactly why you were going there. I'm not sure of the laws regarding doctors reporting potential statutory rape though.
You'll get through this.
I'm not saying this is the right way, or if clergy still keeps these confidences. It literally saved me from more suicide attempts. I recently went back to that same campus to speak with the clergy when my married boss was hitting on me and I was almost giving in, but I was able to stay away and stand my ground and they talked me through it. Just a thought-in confessions they can give you counseling, and your secret is between you and the listener. Sometimes they give you action steps you can do for yourself. Take care, God Bless.
You are young. Do not let this disgusting person break you. Focus on graduating highschool.. Then college. Then worry about finding a boyfriend. I am in my late 30's and wish i would of waited even longer than i did.
