Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Take care,
I understand that it would be great to have their support, but its your support you need most.
Its not their life, its yours. Nobody should influence how you wish to spend it. They arnt going to see the world as you do, thats ok, nobody ever will because you are the only you that will ever exist.
I wont sugar coat it, the world is a very harsh and unforgiving place, but YOU are capable of whopping its ass alone, and in time support will follow.
I support you. I support the you that you wish to be. Be proud of who you are and dont let others take that away from you
I would like to offer a different perspective of things here. See your parents grew up in an age where your choices were NOT acceptable. Throw in the religious teachings and beliefs and that just makes things far more complicated. This world has done a 180 degree turn from the way things use to be and I am afraid of what the outcome will be when its all settled.
People scream for equality for everyone, but on the other hand turn to hate and harassment of those that don't conform to their wishes. I personally DO NOT care what color or sexual orientation a person is as we are all human beings, but I am so sick of the double standard and especially in the USA. People make choices every day to be the way they want to, but that DOES NOT give them the right to either force or push their beliefs on to others. Just as you make the choice to be the person you are, your parents make the choice to be the person's they are and I feel the approach that should be taken is one of understanding and not acceptance.
Have you talked with them about your choices? They do not have to accept them as they are not their choices or beliefs, but to understand your feelings and your desire is completely different.
I wish you luck!
This is my first time here but I read your post and wanted to let you know that I will support you in any way I can. My ex boyfriend is trans. Although we did break up (which is one of the reasons I'm here) we still talk EVERY single day. if you ever want to just talk or vent I am here. I'm sorry your parents are not understanding but you have a group of people here who will help you.
My oldest son came out to me about a year ago. He is trans. I support him in every way possible. I wish your parents were more understanding. Since my son opened up about it we are closer then we've ever been! He is so happy and confident and that's all that matters to me! I'd be happy to talk to you any time
