Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
They were pointing out fairly blatant abuse on two Boards here; also, a pattern of repeated abuse of the members who frequent them and their good natures & willingness to help, as well as some very clear hypocrisy.
Toxic people who whine and moan and abuse people endlessly are apparently welcome. People who truly see the facts for what they are are encouraged to leave, if not "gotten rid of" by goons making who-knows-how-many multiple reports.
To point out clear and repeated TOS violations is not bullying and nastiness. It is simply the truth.
Smart people may even have been spared the irritation and dismay this member has caused so many others, by reading these revelations and paying attention.
I say credit should go to the people who had the guts to speak up.
It is wrong and hateful that your daughter should be bullied, ao. The kids doing this should be held to account for it, every time it happens.
But comparing that situation to what has been going on here is like comparing day to night. There is almost nothing in common, when all the facts are known, except that both cases involve human beings.
I know things have been getting heated here lately and people have been hurt by an individuals behaviour... I have read bits and I found it sad to see such bitterness.. I'm not taking sides because I dont know the full story.. One of the first thing drummed into us, where I work is to be non judgemental..Always a bigger picture to what can appear obvious..I have seen staff who are trained in Autism, constantly jump to conclusions about an individuals behaviour only to be proven completely wrong.. I've done it myself also.. People with Mental illness's are complex and can do some very strange things...I hope the person in question can get the help she needs..I'm very sorry to the ones she hurt, I hope they can carry on reaching out to others here after what happened.
I am trying hard to stay out of this mess on the boards this weekend...very hard. But, the many posts on it just makes it worse.
We use to have fun loving post but we also had some pretty bad fights in here 4 years ago too. They usually revolved around one or two people in an argument.
I say, to everyone, quit fanning the flames and it will die down on it's own. We lost some very good members due to being goated into the point of exploding. Each post to that link fanned the flames just a little harder. It should have remained private.
The members we lost have the option to come back and they usually do after they cool off under a different name.
A word to the wise, you can not call someone out by name when you are arguing with them. You can't blantally call them names. There is a difference in telling the truth and attacking someone. And, there are time when the entire conversation is blown wayyyyyyyy out of control. If it were not for fanning the flames it would have died downed on it's own. So, in a way, we are all guilty.
We are all very sad people. Hurt and afraid....etc. So, maybe we will be able to call it just that. Forgive, compromise or walk away? I have learned that no response can be the most influential. People are left to work on themselves instead of you.
:)Peace
In several cases, I know she went over the line in her correspondences with them. She triggered and upset many people.
Frustration and anger that she continues to get away with such reprehensible behaviour is pretty natural, I think.
