Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Youfit, I believe a nationwide chain, has $10 a month specials going on all the time, only pennies a day compared to the $100s per month you're undoubtedly throwing at bottles of beer or hard booze. So staying fit is not only healthy, it's cheap!
I never did learn -- Drinking does not make me a good hair cutter -- it just made me think I could. Every single time I drank, clip-clip-clip.
You would think something like that would be obvious. When you get up and you hair is clipped off, seems obvious. But alcohol is a liar. It is lying to you right now.
When I got help and medication, I just lost my taste for alcohol and pot. Don't even want it anymore. And it is wonderful to never have a hangover again. Or the depression that goes with a hangover.
Please think about the lies alcohol is fooling you with. Think about how it is making you 'extremely suicidal' when you are hung over. Reach out for help.
I'm pulling for you, and I am saying a prayer for peace for you. Belle.
(country's good drinkin' music LOL)
That's a dangerous line of thought, man. It's going to take more and more and more alcohol to numb that pain!
The trick is to maybe not ENJOY pain, but INCORPORATE pain into one's psyche as part of life's experience.
When you're so young and tender, as you are, the pain DOES feel excruciating; I remember it well. When you get older, it's not that you become numb (I still hurt); it's just that you've learned to push THROUGH pain and let it wash over you, shed tears, really experience the pain, to experience love.
When I do that, I feel spiritually cleansed. It's better than alcohol.
Ever listen to Christian radio? Unlike what Billy Joel says, sometimes it IS better to cry with the saints than laugh with the sinners. I prefer to cry, followed by a good laugh.
I like to watch movies, for that reason. Getting deeply involved with characters on a screen in a story that involves a conflict followed by a satisfactory resolution produces that cleansing effect for me. I cry, I laugh, I get scared, I hurl, whatever.
I don't like to drink to the point of unconsciousness or to wake up next day wondering what the fuck I did the night before, or laying next to some strange chick that I banged and didn't even know I did it...no.
Everything in moderation.
