Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

i would not be alive today if it were not for Daily Strength,
1) I endorse the IGNORE feature. People who add a lot of ignores to their profile will stand out as easily offended people. Those who get added to a lot of ignore lists will stand out as offensive people.
2) Swearing may be part of life. WTF, I do it in real life, it is a VERY situational thing. I would like to see less of it, but with the absence of body language swearing can be a very important tip that a person is really hurting, or very angry.
3) Avatars are an odd thing. As with the swearing, I wish they were less in your face. But I can get used to that, so what the heck, I can see past them.
4) Perhaps DS staff could label some threads as "intense", and then the "Add" button would feed into a delay loop that would then ask "Really?"
5) Groups of people in the real world have ways of self monitoring. Perhaps more of us need to add the word "CHILL" in much the same way we add "bump".
In any event, I like this community. I have not experienced any attacks, perhaps I have not fully "let my hair down" yet!
Thanks to Doug and all the staff for keeping this site going. In my sort time I have already seen you all reach out to somebody who was hurting and tried suicide. So even in all this hoopla, lives are being saved and sould reassured.
