Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I havent used this site in years. I stopped coming here when I thought all of my problems were taken care of but that was silly to think. My problems have followed me and have nearly cost me the love of my life. I never realized I gained bad coping habits from watching my dad's PTSD rages for years.
1. I let my depression take hold of me and keep me in a self pity rut.
2. When my anger and depression mix they make me spew out hurtfull things that I never mean to say, causing loved ones to stay away from me.
3. I bottle all of my fears my anger and my heartache till it bursts and I take it out on whoever is near me at the time.
I want to get rid of these habits. I'm so sick of pushing away my loved ones and being a monster like my dad was and is, even though he tries his best. I have learned a few healthier habits but I need more advice. I'd like to have someone or a few people to talk to about these problems. I want and need so very much to get better.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Do you have a lot of contact with your Dad? I ask because it's hard to think more clearly if you going through it.,,,the proverbial "can't see the forest for the trees." If not, keep posting. Keep asking too. I'm sure you can help PTSD members because of your experience with it and letting some healthier habit take hold of you.
I get educated from others here ~ who are, by the way, really good people!
