Hi all

I'm new, just joined yesterday. I have a lot going on in my life. Firstly, I am a Depression sufferer but at the moment I am on top of it for now, I have sleeping issues and have done since I was about 8, my first child I lost to SIDS in 2007, my second child is Autistic and my little girl who is my third has had issues with her health and possibly faces some global developmental delays.I used to take Prozac (fluoxetine) but I have found I feel better without it, my way to get through bad days is to go the squash courts and whack the living daylights out of the ball or go for a cycle on my bike, sometimes a walk or a run

Welcome to the group ! I also find exercise to be a big help with my
depression. Plus I'll be getting out the "light box " for 45 minutes of
daily therapy starting in October.

I'm fairly new to the group as well but I found it to be very helpful and supportive. I'm sorry to hear about the issues surrounding your children. You seem to have a good grip on your depression and have some great coping strategies. I love to exercise too to help drive the big dark monster away.

I had a bad spell of Depression in 2006, I had lost my job, had a falling out with my neighbours, my pet lamb died and had a falling out with my family,that was one of my rock bottoms. That was the time I was hospitalised due to pseudo seizures then I was diagnosed with conversion disorder and Major Clinical Depression and put on Prozac. The doctors told me I would have to take them for the rest of my life, Prozac got me through the loss of my child and when I got PND with my second the dosage was upended and they also got me through when my daughter was in hospital, but then after that I decided to come off them, but now 3 years later I actually feel a lot better

Hi amack! Welcome to our group!!! I'm so sorry about the loss of one child and health issues with the other two. Sounds like you are handling things pretty well right now. You sound like a strong person!

Thank you all. To be honest, I tend to store things inwards rather than sharing and it bursts like a dam, but that will be something for me to work on. My husband tries to be as supportive as he can be, when I am down, I tend to have some mood swings at him,usually overly grumpy and I shut him away which I am starting to open to him now, but I struggle to get him to see things from my point of view so hence the reason for me to shut away

Awww you got your hands full! Its easy as a mommy to get overwhelmed I often do. Often simply can't breathe from the juggle. I finally been sleeping better by trying a new diet. I get insomnia a lot myself. Well welcome hope you find lots of support:)

I know how it is to try to get your husband to understand. Those not battling with depression can't comprehend our thought process and think that we can just "snap out of it". My husband tends to get frustrated because he just wants to fix things and make it all better. He once told me that when he sees me moody and depressed, he just wants to make it better for me and he gets overly frustrated when he can't. I explain he can't fix my mood but I also give him things he can do to help me out like housework so he feels somewhat involved in my recovery. I try to be as open with him as possible and work through it together. I know it's not easy, but I find that it really does help.

    I'm horrified!  I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000.  I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter.  I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change.  Now this!  I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000.  I guess I have to pay...
