Warfarin and depression?

Hi everyone. I've been taking warfarin for 7 yours now. I've recently had to increase my dosage because I changed gerd medication. I went from Prilosec to Zantac and my INR dropped like a rock. 


To deal with this I went from about 70 mg a week to now about 84 mg a week. I'm still not in range and will probably have to increase more.


Over the last two weeks as I've been doing this I've noticed an intense change in my mood and some crushing depression. It seems to be spiraling. I willI will talk to my doctor to try figure figure this out.


Meanwhile I'm curious if anyone here has seen an increase in depression with Warfarin? I suspect that my doctor will recommend Xarelto. Does Does anyone know if that medication can have the same effect?

When I was on warfarin for about as long as you, my dosage ranged from 12mgs a day to 15mgs a day, and all kinds of combinations in between. Generally we found 15mgs a day seemed to be the sweet spot but you know, so many things can affect your INR. I did not experience depression from increasing my dosage. But constantly dealing with low INRs and dosage changes can really start to take a toll. Any chance the depression might be related to that? My INR was always falling and my dosage was always being increased. It just always feels never ending.

I switched to xarelto a couple years ago, after it had been on the market a while. I am
really happy with it.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
