Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Hi,
I had a D.V.T. in my left leg and P.E.'s in my lungs a couple of years ago.
Then in April this year I had a superficial thrombosis in the same leg. A couple of months ago, I had severe pain and swelling in my left leg, the ultrasound revealed no new blood clot. They contributed the pain to the previous damage/clots already existing.
I am taking aspirin daily, but the hematologist cleared me/said it was not necessary for me to continue on with coumadin.
I have had a cold aching pain in my left forearm. I associate blood clots with heat, swelling and redness, but also know there are different symptoms depending. So I wonder if this is some kind of pain from my fibromyalgia, some kind of circulation problem, a blood clot or something else that I don't even know to guess at.
The pain is localized, about 3 inches down from the wrist bone on the exterior of the forearm. The cold ache is on the inside, sometimes it is so bad that I have used warm water, a heating pad, wrap it up in a blanket depending on the pain factor.. I don't mean to be overly crazy about this, but don't want to ignore something if it is significant.
Any ideas or advice? Thanks!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Hard to know, and it's probably not a clot but if it persists or gets worse, migrates further up your arm,. you should get it checked out.
I had a clot in my arm and the only symptom was persistent pain; it would not let up. I had no swelling, redness, etc. It stared on the inside of my elbow and felt like someone was pulling my skin. Then within a week, the pain started going up my arm and it felt like someone punched me in the upper arm, or like how your arm aches after getting a flu shot.
I tell you this not to scare you; I'm just saying if it doesn't go away, don't just dismiss it as Fibro.
Two years later in that same arm, I started having similar pain in my forearm. It freaked me out. But I was on warfarin already so I assumed it wasn't a clot, but I was nervous so went to the ER anyway. Doc palpitated the area and it hurt so much. He said it was my tendon, like maybe it was inflamed or I pulled something. Followed up with my doc and he said the same thing. The pain went away within a week of that. So, that ended up being nothing.
So, it's hard to say what you're experiencing. Could be anything but again, if it continues, get it checked out.
If rmb are your initials, I have the same monogram...
Hope you feel better, take care!
I hope I didn't scare you. That wasn't my intent. It's so hard to know what is what so I just wanted to give you what my personal experience was.
From one RMB to another, thanks Lady!
