Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
It could be the doctors throw it out because of that high number, sure wish I could remember the name of the test.
I feel that my leg has greatly reduced in size, the pain is no where near what it was, and my ankle is hardly swollen now. I believe that I am on the mend.
Usually they don't do a second ultrasound because a normal course of treatment with anticoagulants takes care of things. Most people are on anticoagulants anywhere from 3 months to a year, unless there's some reason to keep a person on them beyond that. But it really just depends on the doc and your specific circumstances
Most people have an INR range between 2 - 3, so you're just a little below what's considered "therapeutic."
Please make sure your asking your doc or whomever is managing your warfarin to explain what's going on. They should be explaining what your your INR results are and what it means.
And I'm glad your pain and swelling are starting to improve. That's awesome actually. Being in discomfort wears you down physically and mentally. Good to have some good days!
Sandy, so glad you are feeling better!! x
