Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Hey there, everyone. I'm wondering if anyone has a perspective on this: After a DVT/PE in 2008 from (doctors claim) was the soleal vein in my right leg (long plane ride, no genetic factors), I was on wafarin for about a year. Since, then, I've been careful and clear. For the first few years after the clots, I would have leg pain in the same location, head to the hospital and then get cleared. My assumption was that this was phlebitis and each episode was short and dissipated quickly. There was no chest or back pain with the leg pain. I just figured that the extra vigilance was the price I paid for being lucky, like many of us here. That said, I've noticed some leg pain again recently for a few hours, followed by what seems like a chill that runs through my body, then diminished leg pain and then nothing by morning. While I accept that this may be anxiety, I'm wondering if it's possible that I'm getting very small clots that are to small to cause much damage and dislodged quickly. Is this even possible?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
CC

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I have PTS, but I don't have symptoms all the time. I'll go for a few months with pain and swelling, and then months and months relatively fine. Sometimes, my leg hurts out of the blue. I have that feeling of cold water running down the inside of my calf at times.
