Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

Would it be normal or common to start having leg pains from the clotting 13 months after the initial incident? I want to see if anyone else out there has had delayed onset of pain from the clotting. With me, I initially had what seemed like a pulled muscle- a real sharp pronounced "event", and then after that, although my leg became swollen, there really wasn't much pain other than the uncomfortable feeling caused by the swelling. Recently, since I have stopped the Coumadin, I had cramps in my left non-dvt leg on last Friday night, and now today, I am having some pain in my right calf, sporadically when walking, and also in the heel of my right foot. My vein surgeon said that I might have problems down the road with my legs due to the size of my clots, but I really wasn't feeling much change up until now
I am headed to the hematologist for my 1 month follow up in a couple hours and I will pose this question, but I wanted to see if I can get some perspective from some of us that have been through this before.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm glad your hemo is following up. Good luck!
