Eliquis side effects

I was just told I have DVT and just had a minor PE in which I was hospitalized. I was discharged on Eliquis in the "loading" phase of the drug taking 10MG twice a day. I'll switch to 5mg twice a day in about a week.


My question is, will the side effects be less on the lower dose? As it stands, about two hours after taking the 10mg, I get very dizzy and spacey feeling. Seriousy, if it were just another day and I wasn't taking a medication, I'd go to the emergency room if I felt this way. Not normal, and feel "ill".

It just depends on the person. I’m not on Eliquis but xarelto and I think for any of these drugs, some people experience side effects and some don’t and for some that do the side effects eventually go away or for some people they just never feel good on these drugs and switch to something else. If it were me, I’d discuss it with a pharmacist for info on the side effects, whether they may dissipate, etc. They sometimes have a keener insight into that than a physician.

I’d also discuss it with your doctor if it’s really affecting you continuously because they could potentially prescribe you something else.

I am also on Xarelto (for life) and have experienced no side effects. I told my doctor that I had wanted to go on Eliquis but she said that that would require taking it twice a day rather than once a day with Xarelto.
If I would you I'd ask my doctor to switch me to Xarelto and see what happens.

    My husband Gareth yesterday said that he was looking for a one bedroom flat.  SO I SAID to him dont you love me anymore and then he said no>  a little later he slipped in the shower and we had to go up and rescue him all he has done  is hurt his ankleandi toes.  A later on he gave me a  hug and said he did love  me.  I dont know what to do or  what to think.  I know he is texting another...

    I trying to not focus on pain BUT I still have pinched nerves. I started yoga for sciatica pain which is fine and my job has a free program for like virtual PT and you do exercise tailored to you pain or issues. You also talk to physical therapist and it gets adjusted as needed. I have managed to get it better but still not great. But I was happy with progress. Today I walked to get breakfast...
