I just joined this group. I caught a blood clot in a detox in 2015. I do not take meds. I have no followed up on it yet. I initially took Lovenox for like 6 months. But have not treated since

I don’t think medication helps with discoloration. My DVT was in 2007 and I’ve been on anticoagulants ever since and the discoloration is still there. I have minor discoloration though.

Unfortunately, taking anticoagulants (aka:blood thinners) does not help reduce the discoloration, nor any other symptoms. Anticoagulants help prevent new blood clots from forming and help prevent existing blood clots from getting larger. If you are battling with discoloration and possibly swelling and discomfort, regular breaks that include elevating your legs higher than your heart and sometimes the proper use of compression stockings can help reduce your symptoms. You should discuss your symptoms and treatment options with your primary doctor or vascular specialist.
